The purpose of the fund is to establish a trust corpus from which the income earned can be used to benefit women in the work of the church. Scholarships are awarded for the use of a female student entering full-time Christian service in some church-related occupation or, in lieu of such a candidate, the scholarship is open to seminarians or others pursuing Christian vocations.
Grants are also awarded for the use of a parishioner who wishes to attend church-related symposium or workshops. The fund is administered by an all-female board, including the Rector of St. Barnabas, who serves as an ex-officio member. The present board consists of Edie Rissberger-Stow, Sandra Compton, JacE Macy and Glenda Wade. Memorial bequests to the fund are always welcome.
The fund has granted many scholarships since its inception.
